Another year and another How Women Work conference. After last year’s conference I was inspired to create a vision board for the first time in years. I spent a lot of time scouring the internet for photos that represented my dreams. I printed and pasted these images unto an A0 size of Bristol board.
A year later and reviewing it has been fun:
Aston Martin – not yet – will go on every year’s board until I get one!
Honda Pilot SUV – about a month ago we took delivery of the equivalent Mitsubishi Pajero or Shogun as it is known in some parts of the world.
Mayaro beach – so did not get there for Carnival this year but planning to be there over the summer holidays.
House in Rivera Gardens – been having a bit of compound envy ever since I visited friends on this compound. Now refocused on making our house a home, painted a couple of walls terracotta, bought some new sofas and storage boxes and will put up family photos and buy a rug – I’ve been saying that for 3 years now…
Mock-up of cover of my novel – have spent a lot of time thinking about novel, and doing some rudimentary planning. So I think this one is going to have to be put on this year’s vision board.
World cup brazil logo – a bit disappointed not going but not too much
iphone – don’t want to be an Apple hater nor an Android robot but loving my Samsung Galaxy SIII
Baby girl – had me a baby boy and a bit relieved to not have a girl if I’m honest. I have 2 official and 1 unofficial Goddaughters: Alexis, Joelle and Chloe.
Canon SLR camera – we got a Nikon. Dorothea Lange’s place in history remains unchallenged and Anne Geddes need not have any sleepless nights.
Uni of London English Degree – that’s going on this year’s and maybe the following year’s but I will do this course!
Picture of hubby and me – He still wears the shirt in the picture and I want to be that size again so the gym is definitely on the agenda for this year.
Picture of Kwame and words that describe characteristics I’d like him to develop – as any parent will tell you it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Personally, I’d say it is the heptathalon and I’m not Jessica Ennis.
Director of Renewable Energy – a title I know Kofi would love but the fact that he is working is a blessing while he works on getting back to his field of passion, interest and expertise.
Two of my favourite mantras – ‘For nothing is impossible with God.’ Luke 1:37 and ‘Do or do not, there is no try.’ Yoda.
I’m off now to start working on this year’s vision board.
Isn’t it time you created a vision board?
